The Directions Inc. creative team launched an initiative over the last year to develop small scale creative deliverables for our research clients that are meant to engage people within our clients’ organizations in fast and easy ways in order to drive curiosity and excitement. When this SPARK initiative came together, the marketing team wanted a video put together that could be shared with clients as a selling tool. The video had to be fast paced and upbeat if we wanted our clients to feel excitement about these deliverables.
Working with the marketing team, I first created a storyboard using stock photography to highlight some sample shots that I wanted to capture. Once my concept was approved, I shot all of this video footage in our office building, just using the help of some of my coworkers. I wanted each product to be shown both in use, to show the real world applications, and up close to highlight the deliverables themselves. I then found lively music to bring the video to life, timed out my shots to the music, and added transitions that make the deliverables feel the way they are intended to feel for the clients.
