As a Video Content Creator at Directions Inc, one of the video deliverables we offer to our clients is a “Documentary”, a video that tells the story of consumers using captured interview and b-roll footage. This particular video was made for a client in the condiment industry. The objective of the project was to better understand their consumers who regularly grill or barbecue.
For this project, my team traveled to Austin, Texas, to the home of James, to interview him about his barbecuing habits. We then watched him prepare and smoke a brisket while he walked us through his process. As the only videographer on this project, I was solely responsible for handling all of the video and light equipment, running a two camera interview setup, and capturing all the necessary b-roll. I was then solely responsible for editing all of the interview footage into a short and coherent story that captured all of our client’s main points of emphasis, and incorporating any b-roll into the video that would enhance the story.
