1 in 68 children in America is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Children who are diagnosed with autism have difficulty communicating with others, as they are not easily able to understand social cues, body language, and figurative language. In addition, studies have shown that the earlier in life an intervention occurs in regards to communication troubles, the higher functioning the child will be throughout their life.

Together, with classmates Shelly Boylson and Margot Harknett, we worked to provide a design solution that would benefit not only children affected by autism, but also their parents and caretakers. Our goal was to bridge the communication gap between autistic children and the non disabled people that they interact with.
